Casual Theatre Technicians

The Space is looking for a creative and innovative live theatre technician to join their team on a casual basis.

Ideally you will have:

  • excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • working knowledge of professional audio and lighting equipment, including the setup & operation of audio/lighting systems for live theatre performances.


Responsibilities include:

  • rigging, programming and operating lights for all performances by The Space and outside hires.
  • realising technical solutions for desired set, lighting and sounds effects.

Work For Classes...

At the moment we are a full house but The Space Dance & Arts Centre are always looking for people interested in working in return for casual dance classes.

Responsibilities:

  • assisting reception staff
  • greeting customers at the front desk
  • taking phone enquiries
  • administrative tasks where required
  • some general cleaning and maintenance


You MUST have a dynamic personality and a strong work ethic!

*No experienced required. Young applicants are encouraged to apply.

* First Aid Certificate advantageous but not essential.

Dance Teachers...

At the moment we are a full house but The Space Dance & Arts Centre are always looking for fantastic dance teachers in all genres for substitute teaching positions. We are also looking for highly skilled professionals for once off Workshops and Masterclasses.

You MUST:

  •   be professionally trained.
  •   have outstanding communication skills.
  •   have a dynamic personality!
  •   be energetic, motivated and EXTREMELY RELIABLE!
  •   be punctual with reliable transport.
  •   be passionate about dancing AND teaching.
  •   have excellent choreography skills.


Desirable:

  •   Working with children background check (if teaching Next Gen! classes)
  •   2+ years teaching experience preferred
